a forest garden ... or food forest ...
.This is what people say about what we're trying to do here when we chat to them about it in our talks and presentations, when they visit us to see what we're doing, or when they come to WWOOF with us:
"Just a quick card to say a huge thanks for a very inspiring (and well-timed!) day on Saturday - just what I needed - time to think outside (and of the proverbial, yes!) Brilliant to see your place - I was right to be curious - I loved it!" VISITOR
"I thank you for everything. Ive learned a lot with you - you've not only guided me to rediscover the path in the garden but also the path of my life in a way...I'll never forget neither Gonew Wood nor its inhabitants, and hope to come back one day (and see the future roof of the pizza oven finished!) xxx " WWOOFER
"Most inspiring..please come again soon! Do you do B&B???"
"I want to thankyou again for this incredible time with you, so full of joy, connection, inspiration and love. What you are giving to the world is an immense gift, and as you know, the light will spread. It's enriching and inspiring. I see the way you live and think, and it gives me the confidence that it's possible for me as well to create places of awareness of positiveness. I am very sure you are changing my life for the better!" WWOOFER
"Really delightful presentation, and all the trouble you have taken is much appreciated. ...What is necessary to make it possible for all??"
"Thank you for helping us enjoy nature and making Tuesdays brighter!" WILD TUESDAY - ER
Thanks so much for everything - we've had so much fun and enjoyed every minute. Keep in touch and hopefully see you soon!" WILD TUESDAY - ER
"Lovely talk! I do admire what you do!"
" Thank you for creating and maintaining the beautiful Gonew Woods. Also for being so generous with your time, knowledge and incredible homes. I hope to return soon!" WWOOFER
"Great talk...I envy you..I wish I could live this way!"
The problem is not the problem. Your attitude to it is the problem" - or the solution! Again you showed me that it's all about how we see and act, it's our choice what we do and give to the world. Thanks for the huge inspiration! You are incredibly amazing!" WWOOFER
"Thank you for a tranquil, nurturing day, immersed in environmental growth, that I hope can be spread by your brilliant advocacy! Permanently Brilliant by name, Permanently Brilliant by nature!" VISITOR
Thank you, you're an absolute star - keep up the permanent brilliance, very inspiring and a pleasure to be here. Take care and hasta pronto!" WWOOFER
" Thank you so much for the talk you gave to us..we were fascinated and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hear you are coming to the forum in the New Year - I shall look forward to that. Many thanks again!"
"Many many thanks! I've felt good vibes here...Hope I can come back!" WWOOFER
" Thank you so much for all you've done - the sessions have been a real inspiration!" TRAINEE
Thank you so much for having me for my (very extended) week! It has been way more than I could have imagined for my first WOOF adventure. Not only have I learned all about permaculture (damn those "invading daisies,,,whoops!) and I will never look at hexagons the same way again!) but met so many interesting people and have gained a different perspective on life - which may influence my future plans - outdoor/garden GP practice, anyone?? !" WWOOFER (MEDICAL STUDENT)
Thanks for all, Manda! For your suggestions, support, welcome, chats and delicious food. You understood my loneliness, and you helped me to feel here like at home! I felt you very close to me like an old friend! I'll wait for you in Italy! An enormous hug!" WWOOFER
"I loved the talk ...you need to do more!"
" I can't thank you enought for welcoming me into your lives here at Gonew, I felt at home as soon as I set foot here. Although I feel sad to leave I also have a sense that the path my time spent here wlil take me on will bring me back here at some time! Thank you again - I definitely got lucky and landed wiht the best WWOOF-ing hosts, like they say - first time lucky! All my love, I will keep in touch!"

We asked our wonderful wwoofers what being part of the
Permanently Brilliant Permaculture Academy has been about for them:

"learning stuff...meeting new people with similar interests, new ideas and thoughts"

"not seeing somewhere superficially, but gaining a deeper understanding"

" about escaping the routine, learning about impacts, doing something good, giving something back..."

"learning about new cultures, and gaining practical skills"

" gaining new perspectives by "breaking free" from normal routine - difficult to do otherwise!"

"learning about things you take for granted and new ways of living"

"exciting, rewarding and interesting!"

"being able to contribute towards a a project with sustainability as the purpose

"being able to connect principles that matter all over the world - solidarity and the benefits of cultural exchange!"

"understanding that permaculture and woofing is about leaning practical skills and adding to your experience but also about learning how to incorporate those experiences into other areas of life - applying it to yourself as well as the environment!"

"would highly recommend!"

"just the seeing sustainable solutions in practise, developing them, allowing people access to land and so allowing a new understanding of nature - and it provides city people the chance to connect to nature!"

"about learning - learning about plants, about politics, about new perpectives...everything!"
